CHALLENGE The kids banking market is a tough one to crack, but well worth the effort. If we can get kids on board while they’re young, we increase the chances that they’ll become banking customers for life. In the age of the digital, native money boxes and colouring books no longer cut it. With this in mind, we set out to create an app to reach this iPhone-fixated audience. And so, PayPig was born. IDEA Kids savings had been conquered by other banks. Kids earning however? That was something new. Parents set the chores they want done, how much they’re prepared to pay, and a pay-day. Kids set pocket money targets and the things they’re saving for. The app has features such as a pig-shaped SMS for prompting parents to pay their dues, and dual login feature for kids to engage with, and parents to monitor and control. RESULTS • Over 2000 downloads in the first month (and counting) • A 5 star customer review on the App Store and glowing reviews from bloggers • PayPig is also soon to be featured in the Apple App store showcase
